Nation Receives Five National Bids
Liberty HS – Local cheerleading
team Cheer Nation earned five bids to the USA National
cheerleading competition at a recent regional contest at
Liberty High School. Bids were awarded to two pro stunt
competition teams, the group stunt all-star team, the youth
all-star show cheer novice team and for a second place
finish in the prestigious senior all-star show cheer advanced
team.
Meanwhile, CC Elite surprised the audience
by receiving two first place awards and two national championship
bids in the junior prep all-star show cheer intermediate
and the senior all-star show cheer advanced team.
“Nobody thought we could do it,” said Charlene
Floren, a CC Elite team member that attends
Foothill High School. “This is a big accomplishment
that means a lot to us.”
Three other national championship bids
were awarded - two to Cheer Adrenaline for its youth all-star
show cheer novice and junior all-star show cheer novice
and one bid to Las Vegas Extreme Cheer for a second place
finish in the junior prep all-star show cheer intermediate
competition.
In order to qualify for the USA National
competition from March 19 - 21 in Anaheim, Calif. teams
had to score more than 85 points on a 100-point scale.
